Morning Focus – Monday 20/11/17

The Monday edition of Morning Focus got off to a lively start and a chat with the hugely popular author Alice Taylor, who’s already looking ahead to Christmas.

The show opened with jobs news for Ennis. Terry Fox, Founder of Cup Print, Ennis, joined Gavin to outline how the firm will create 15 jobs next year thanks to technology that’s set to produce fully recyclable disposable cups (beating any ‘latte levy’).

After the decision of Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams to step down, Gavin was joined on the line by MEP Liadh Ní Ríada of Ireland South.

Then, the talk turned to investment in early childhood education, which is among the worst in Europe according to the EU Social Justice Index. Gavin was joined on the line by Teresa Heaney of Early Childhood Ireland.

Afterwards, Gavin heard from the organisation, Chronic Pain Ireland who have secured a licence to use medicinal cannabis. The show heard from barrister and National Secretary of Chronic Pain Ireland, William McLoughlin. Listen back below:

Then, it was time for the weekly Sports Panel to gather in studio.
