The first to update listeners were Clare County Council’s Senior Engineer Tom Tiernan and Garda Chief Superintendent John Kerin. They advised road-users to exercise extreme care following heavy snowfall around Clare.

After that, it was off to Shannon for an update from Patricia McCarthy on the snow there and to Lahinch where Michael Vaughan was standing by.

Then, Clare Rose Aoife Murray joined Gavin to talk about her visit to the Vesnova Orphanage in Chernobyl.
For an update on how farmers are coping with the cold and snow, Gavin was joined by Martin McMahon, Clare Chairperson of the ICMSA.

Gavin also heard from Tom Murphy of the Clare branch of Birdwatch Ireland.
After that, Gavin was joined by Joe Forde who told him about efforts to raise fund for the Elevate Foundation at the Orchard Wellness Centre in Ennis.
With the shops closed, for the most part, and a rush on items like bread, Gavin heard from Frank Landy, Head Chef at the Rowan Tree, Ennis, joined Gavin with lots of advice on cooking to keep warm and to make the most of store-cupboard items.

After that, the show heard from Bernard Lucas and Deirdre Linnane of the Doolin Coastguard. They’re launching the Caitriona Lucas Challenge in memory of Bernard’s late wife, the heroic Caitriona.
Then, Clare FM’s Stephen McDermott joined Gavin with recommendations on the best telly and box sets to watch while snowed in.
