Bernard Glouster, HSE Mid West Community Healthcare Chief Officer spoke about the site found for elderly care beds in Ennis.
The HSE recently confirmed that a site has been set for a new 100-bed community hospital to replace St Joseph’s Hospital, Ennis.
Niall Garvey, Muntir na Tíre informed us about the fund launched to close the urban-rural jobs divide. The government has launched a one billion euro fund for investment in rural towns and villages with a population under 10,000 over the coming 10 years. Over a million euro has been allocated for a Multi-Service Innovation Centre in Ennistymon.
We heard from Patrick Bourke of Patrick Bourke Menswear on shoplifting for Clare retailers in the run-up to Christmas. Patrick says it is a persistent problem which needs to be tackled.
In the second hour of Morning Focus we had ‘Garda Focus’ with Clare Crime Prevention Officer, Sgt Tríona O’Rourke who gave us details of the weeks crimes.
Eoghan Rice, Trocaire talked about the Trocaire appeal for help for children in Yemen. 85,000 children have died there since the start of the war. According to ‘Save the Children’ 55,000 metric tonnes of food have been blocked every month.

Ann Norton, Marcella O’Sullivan and Pat O’Neill discussed the So You Think You Can Dance performance night at the Auburn Lodge Hotel this Friday (November 30) at 8pm. Marcella O’Sullivan choreographed all the performances with the inspiration of ‘The Greatest Showman’ and the night is in aid of the Clare Crusaders.

Cllr Mary Howard gave details about the SafeTALK course being held over the next few weeks which is designed to equip people with the skills and confidence to help someone who is dealing with mental health issues.
