Number Of COVID Deaths In Clare Is Revised Upwards To 37

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Clare has been increased to 37.

The figure had been reported as 32 by the CSO last week, but now the organisation has revised the number upwards.

The increase appears to be as a result of a reclassification of data, as the CSO also states that there have been no COVID-related deaths here in either of the past two weeks.

The statistics also show that the number of cases here remains low, with fewer than ten cases recorded here in each of the past six weeks and no cases at all last week.

Separate Department of Health figures have also reported no increase in COVID cases in Clare since then either.

Kilmilhil GP and former TD Dr. Michael Harty says we should all continue to take measures to continue to suppress the virus.
