Almost 17% Drop In Garda Fines In Clare For Driving Without NCT

The number of people in paying Garda fines in Clare for driving a car without an NCT dropped by almost 17% last year.

According to Freedom of Information files, 74 fines totalling 5,730 euro were paid in 2019, down from 89 fines the previous year, which resulted in just over 6,500 euro being collected.

The fall comes despite a rise in figures nationally, with more than 11,000 fines issued across the country over the past two years, with a total value of 800,000 euro.
