ESB Officials To Meet With Harty On Future Of Moneypoint

Senior ESB officials have agreed to meet with Clare’s Independent TD as concern grows about the future of the Moneypoint Power Station.

Coal-fired operations at Moneypoint are due to come to an end by 2025, but it has also emerged in recent weeks that operations are already slowing with staff told the station will be running only winter operations.

This has led to fear that the 400 jobs there are in imminent danger, with reports that the number of contractors at Moneypoint has already been greatly scaled back.
