The Deise beat Cork 1-21 to 1-11 in Pairc Uí Rinn last night, giving Waterford a first win in the under 21 Championship since 2009.
Waterford goalscorer Shane Bennett produced a man of the match performance even though the game came less than three hours after he had finished his Leaving Cert.
He and his team-mates will now travel to Ennis for the clash against Clare next month.
