Clare’s Tony Kelly has been named the PWC-GAA-GPA Hurler of the month for July.
The Ballyea man was bestowed with the prestigious accolade for his barnstorming displays in the All-Ireland Semi-Final and All-Ireland Final respectively.
Kelly’s contributions played a pivotal role in the Banner overcoming Kilkenny for the first time in three years at the last four-stage of the competition as his contribution of 0-03 steered Clare on the path to victory.
In the All-Ireland Final, Kelly had a personal haul of 1-04, including a second-half wondergoal which earned him the Man of the Match award as Clare went on to claim the Liam McCarthy Cup for just the 5th time in the county’s history.
