2017 Irish Open champion John Rahm laid down a marker for this weekend as his team were successful in the Pro-Am competition today.
The Spaniard was joined by Tom Coughlan, Geoff Morton and Mike Higgins to record a combined total of 37 under par in the afternoon.
It was enough to beat South African Brandon Stone and his team of Morrisons (Gary, Niall and Ian) who recorded 36 under par in the morning session.
While the tournament proper doesn’t begin until tomorrow, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Pro-Am did attract plenty of interest.
England’s Andrew Johnston was on the course with three Irish rugby legends.
Keith Wood is an avid golfer with a five handicap and Paul O’Connell has been getting back into the game since his rugby career ended.
Shane Byrne completes the set and he was looking forward to getting out on the course beforehand as well as having this message for those thinking of attending.
