Nicky O’Connell back in Clare senior hurling set up

One of Clare’s brightest young hurling prospects has been welcomed back into the Senior Intercounty Set Up.

Nicky O’Connell was a member of the panel for the National Hurling League but failed to make the cut as the Championship squad was whittled down for June 21st’s Munster Clash with Tipperary.

The news comes as Mike McNamara has a number of injury concerns heading into the qualifier against Galway on Saturday week.

Vice-captain Gerry O’Grady, Alan Markham and Patrick Donnelan are all on the treatment table.

In Camogie, Clare were beaten 3-13 to 1-6 by Cork last night in the All-Ireland Minor Championship. Shona Enright was scorer in chief with 2 frees and 1-1 from play.
