The climax of the Clare Soccer Premier Division is set to top the agenda when the executive of the Clare Soccer League meet this evening.
It was expected that Hermitage would be informing the League they would not be fulfilling their midweek fixture against Newmarket Celtic as they looked to concentrate on next weekends promotion/relegation playoff against Moher Celtic.
However, Clare FM now understands Hermitage will fulfill the fixture as to concede a walkover carries an automatic penalty of a three point deduction, which could see them relegated.
Newmarket need just one point from their remaining three games to seal the title.
That could see them claim the first of a league and cup double, after they booked their spot in the Prego Menswear Clare Cup Final, where they'll face neighbours Bridge United.
That game will be played on the weekend of May 30th.
