Tuamgraney’s Diarmuid Nash has just missed out on a third 40*20 National Handball title to Robbie McCarthy in Claregalway.
The Clare man won the opening set 15-13 but McCarthy came back to win the second 15-3.

Despite a strong start to the decider, Nash saw his opponent come back to win 11-9 and take the title.

Nash reached the final after beating fellow Clare player Colin Crehan in today’s rip roaring semi-final.
Crehan won the first set 15-13 before Nash replied with the second set 15-12.
The contest wen to a tiebreak third set and to the final point before Nash prevailed 11-10.
