A Clare man has been selected as part of the Irish team for the World Athletics Championships in Bejiing.

Sixmilebridge's Timmy Crowe will be on the 4 X 400 metre relay side after finishing 4th at the National Championships yesterday.
The squad are flying to China today for the event which gets underway in two weeks time.
Olympic qualification is also on the cards for the Bridge man, as the Irish side are currently ranked 13th in the world, and if they stay inside the top 16 over the next year, they will book their spot on the plane to Rio.
