The All-Ireland Champion Clare hurlers were one of seven county sides who were fined for missing mandatory drugs tests last year.
The Irish Examiner says the Clare County Board was docked €1,000 after the team was absent for two missed tests in March of 2013.
Boss Davy Fitzgerald has told the paper that this was because testers were not notified of a late change in training venue, and that steps have been taken to avoid a repeat.
The hurlers of Cork, Galway, Limerick and Tipperary, as well as the Donegal and Kildare footballers were also fined.
The Irish Sports Council have noted that 89 players were tested last year , 44 were tested after games while 45 were tested during collective training all tests came back clear.
Anti doping director Dr Una May says she has no concerns about doping in GAA adding that when teams miss test it's generally because of late changes of training venues due to poor weather or pitch conditions.
