Diarmuid Nash has suffered a defeat in his first ever Senior Singles Handball All Ireland Final.
Tuamgraney Club man nash suffered a 21-18 21-05 loss to top Seed Robbie McCarthy of Westmeath in the 40×20 showpiece.
It proved a tight opening game in which the pair were level four times, McCarthy stormed into a strong 18-0 lead in the second game, but Nash bowed out fighting and pulled it back to an eventual 21-05.
It was Nash first ever final appearance, while for 26 year old McCarthy, having lost the last two finals to Paul Brady, it was third time lucky, and also means the Westmeath man has a clean sweep of titles in Senior Mens Singles competition.
