Thursday’s Morning Focus spoke about a very different kind of calendar — one that brings together Clare’s rich musical talent, a little bit of fun and a very important cause.
The ‘Barely Trad’ Clare Musicians for Alzheimer’s 2027 Calendar is the brainchild of Siobhán O’Sullivan. Featuring 12 groups of Clare musicians in some wonderfully quirky photographs, the project aims to raise awareness of dementia and highlight the importance of local services for people living with the condition and their families.
The campaign is endorsed by Ennis man Mike Hanrahan, Clare Ambassador for Age Friendly Ireland and Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health, and it is supported by a series of free musical events around the county.
Joining Alan Morrissey to tell us more were Siobhán O’Sullivan, Mary McGuane of Kilmaley Daycare Centre, and Linda Murphy of An Cuan in Cahercalla to share their perspectives on the importance of dementia care and community support.
