Surge In People Seeking Support From Rape Crisis Network

There was a 98% increase in the number of rape and sex abuse survivors contacting crisis centres for counselling during lockdown.

According to a new report from the Rape Crisis Network Ireland, the amount of time survivors spent on calls to helplines increased by 83 percent in the four-month period.

The report shows that between March and the end of June, the number of calls to helplines increased by 23 percent, compared to the same time last year.
