On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by MacDara Ó Conaola who is an Irish Language Officer for An Clár as Gaeilge along with Donal O’Loinsigh who is an Irish language enthusiast and presenter of Clare FM’s Cúl Chaint. The duo discussed Seachtain na Gaeilge which is an Irish language festival that celebrates our very own native language. Donal described the importance of the festival that will run between the 1st and 17th of March and emphasized the significance of the Irish language to the nation. MacDara highlighted the various events that will be taking place locally throughout the duration of the festival. The pair also urged the people of the county to begin their very own ciorcal comhrá which are discussion groups in Irish.
