25% Of Patients Waiting For Hospital Beds Today Are On Trolleys At UHL Alone

Nurses say a quarter of patients waiting for beds at Irish Hospitals were on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick alone.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 113 people on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

49 of those were on trolleys in the Emergency Department, with a further 64 accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

The overall figure is 69 more than the next busiest facility, Galway University Hospital, where there were 44 admitted patients waiting for beds this morning.
