New Measures To Reduce Car Use

Green Party Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says a range of new measures to reduce car use are not “anti-driver”.

Higher parking fees, incentives to carpool, and congestion charges are among the 35 proposals that will go out for public consultation.

There are also proposals for larger cars, like SUVs, to pay higher taxes. Eamon Ryan says the aim is to make any cars on the road environmentally friendly.
