The 2026 Russell Weekend is just around the corner.
The annual Irish traditional music festival held in Doolin is a remembrance event celebrating the world famous traditional musician Russell family from the area; Micho, Packie and Gussie.

This year’s festival will run from Friday the 20th to Monday the 23rd of February.
To look ahead to the Russell Festival Weekend for 2026 and find out what to expect, Alan Morrissey was delighted to chat with Pat Sweeney, local historian, cousin to the Russell brothers, member of the committee; Martin Davis, Chairman of the Russell Committee and Sarah Clarke, who plays the concertina.
