Montessori At Carrigoran For Older Adults

Montessori is traditionally associated with children, however, the next guests on Morning Focus today, hope to change that perspective.

We heard from Davnet Dwyer, learning facilitator with L3M Ireland and Aisling Neary who is also involved in bringing the programme to Carrigoran House in Newmarket On Fergus. The programme uses the principles of Montessori to help older people in what they describe as ‘enjoyable’ Life Long Learning for Older Adults.

Also to briefly mention Carrigoran are holding a free melanoma screening day on November 8th. They will also have free advice and information available from specialists from the Marie Keating Foundation, Parkinsons Society & Alzheimer’s Society. These organisations will be present to offer advice and answer any queries. It’s a great opportunity for members of the public to come along and avail of the information and advice.
