Nurses say almost a quarter of all admitted patients waiting for a bed today are attending University Hospital Limerick.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 123 patients on trolleys at the region’s main hospital during morning rounds.

The overall figure is six dozen more than the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital, where 51 patients were waiting for beds this morning.
