On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Paul McGibney who is the Clare winner of Volunteer of the Year and is a coach with Kilrush Basketball Club. Paul discussed the Federation of Irish Sport’s 2022 Volunteers in Sport Awards which took place recently at the Crown Plaza hotel. He described his shock and delight at winning the award and mentioned the importance of the awards as a way of rewarding volunteers. The event highlighted the amount of people volunteering in sport throughout Ireland. He spoke about the crucial role of Clare Sports Partnership in local sport and made reference to Kilrush Basketball Club. Paul called on anyone who may be interested in volunteering with the basketball club to do so.
