Irish Red Cross In Clare Set To Fundraise For Victims Of Earthquakes In Syria And Turkey

On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by James Lafferty who is the Honorary Treasurer of the Irish Red Cross in Clare along with Valery Larkin who was involved with the largest knitted blanket in the world through the Irish Red Cross in Clare. James discussed the upcoming fundraiser which is set to be held by the Irish Red Cross in County Clare. The fundraiser itself will take place outside Lynch’s Centra on the Gort Road in Ennis on Friday 24th of February between 8:30am and 6pm. He spoke about the main aim of the fundraiser in order to raise funds to support the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria. Valery discussed her recent involvement with the Irish Red Cross in Clare and highlighted her Guinness world record in which she was involved in knitting the world’s largest blanket. The blanket was 21,471.95 sq. ft and took two years to complete. She highlighted her strong love for knitting and called on the women of Clare to come forward and help her knit blankets, hats and scarves to donate to earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey.
