On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Michael Mc Tigue, a relative of the legendary Clare world champion boxer, Mike Mc Tigue. Michael discussed the process he had to go through to rename ‘Victoria’s Bridge’ in Ennis to ‘The Mike McTigue Bridge’. He expressed how he was delighted to succeed in his efforts to rename the bridge, while also rescuing Mike’s name from being forgotten about in history. Michael highlighted that he hopes to put something on or adjacent to the bridge as a symbol for Mike and his historic boxing career.
