Clare Teenager Louis Griffin has recently been crowned All Ireland Under-16 boxing champion. The Kilfenora Boxing Club member captured the 54kg title with victory over Ulster champion, Nojas Samatakas from Portadown. On Thursday’s Morning Focus, presenter Pat Flynn was joined live in studio by Louis, Robert Cassidy who is his coach and his father Matthew Griffin. Robert described the history of Kilfenora Boxing club and the positive effect that the club has on the local community. Matthew spoke about the benefits of the sport which helps to improve an individuals footwork and agility. Louis looked back on his recent triumph and what may lay ahead for the future.
