On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Keith Whelan, Captain of the Irish AFL Team from Larchill in Doora Barefield. Keith joined Alan at the start of June to speak about how he had been selected to play for the Irish Warriors AFL squad. Keith returned this morning and spoke about the recent European Championship win.
It had been 11 years since the last time Ireland had won an AFL European Championship. Keith discussed the journey he and the team had endured during the group stages which led to their final victory over Wales.
