Many student nurses are continuing to express anger and disappointment at what they see as a lack of government support.

He told the Dáil that if representative organizations give their backing for the review, any recommended increase in allowance in relation to Covid-19 would be in place in January.

He said the Government was also looking at a second, longer-term review of student placements generally.

On Monday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to John Roddy, a fourth year student nurse about the issue.
