Works have begun on the final section of the Ennis Lower Flood Relief Scheme.

This latest stage of the multi-million euro project will see the provision of a 106m flood defence wall and associated works along the River Fergus from Bank Place to the Club Bridge.

Clare County Council says the works, which are being carried out by Ward and Burke Construction Ltd., will protect a large number of businesses and private houses in the area.
