Workers Call For Clarity On Future Of Shannon Heritage Sites

A protest is taking place in Shannon this lunchtime to highlight workers concerns over the future of heritage sites in the county.

Bunratty and King John’s Castles reopened last month but are due to close again at the end of August, while Cragganouwen, Knappogue and Dungauire Castles will remain closed.

Shannon Group has made a submission to the Government seeking funding to keep the sites open year-round, and Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has agreed that support is needed.
