West Clare Principal Says Substitute Teachers Shortage Reaching ‘Epidemic Proportions’

A West Clare national school principal is warning the shortage of substitute teachers could reach ‘epidemic proportions’ in the next number of months.

Despite being directed not to by the Department of Education, some schools have had to ask Special Education Teachers to sub classes.

The Irish Primary Principals Network says more teachers are absent than usual due to Covid-19.
