Walk In Measles Vaccine Clinics In Clare Amid Outbreak Fears

Walk in vaccination clinics for measles, mumps and rubella will be held across Clare this week amid fears of a widespread outbreak.

It comes amid a spike in measles cases nationwide, where one in five people diagnosed with the highly contagious condition will be hospitalised.

People are urged to look out for symptoms such as a rash spreading throughout the body which can lead to complications of seizures and pneumonia.

Clinics will take place at the Clarecastle Health Centre and Ennis Primary Care Centre on April 1st and April 5th next week and HSE Midwest Consultant in Public Health Medicine Dr Breda Cosgrove says its an urgent matter.
