It’s claimed new data clearly shows the case for a new emergency department in Clare.
It follows a private briefing at Clare County Council yesterday, in which elected representatives were told 25% of patients attending University Hospital Limerick’s Emergency Department and 5% of patients attending University Hospital Galway’s ED are coming from Clare.

The findings are contained in the Midwest Integrated Demand and Capacity Analysis for Regional Emergency Care, produced by Independent Academic Sinéad Madden.
Sinéad says the need for enhanced services in Clare is evident.
