The Vice-Chair of the newly established HSE Regional Health Forum Mid West claims the Government is “playing catch-up” with its latest funding allocation for health services in the county.
The 2026 Capital Plan has set aside €6 million for healthcare facilities in Clare with €3.6 million of this going towards an upgrade of Ennis Hospital.

The expansion includes a new ward block with 48 beds.
