Europe’s food safety chief’s called for an urgent summit following a health scare over contaminated eggs.

700-thousand eggs from Dutch farms implicated in illegal pesticide use, have made it across borders and into products in the UK.

The EU’s health commissioner says ministers and national regulators should meet to discuss the fallout.
