UL Politics Professor Says Supplying Tanks To Ukraine Not Likely To Provoke Putin To Attack West

A Professor of politics at the region’s largest university doesn’t believe supplying tanks to Ukraine will provoke Putin to extend the war into other Western territories.

Germany announced yesterday that it will donate 14 Leopard 2 tanks to the war-torn state, while the US is sending 31 M1 Abrams battle tanks.

The decision led to immediate retaliation from Russia, which launched a wave of missile and self-exploding drone attacks on Ukraine this morning.

Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Limerick, Neil Robinson, says while the move has provoked Vladimir Putin, he doesn’t predict that he will directly attack a NATO state.
