UL Hospitals Group Says Electives And Outpatients Appointments Expected To Be Cancelled Later This Week

The Chief Clinical Director of the UL Hospitals Group believes there’s an inevitability that elective procedures and outpatient appointments will be cancelled later this week.

Investigations are continuing into the extent of the cyber-attacks on the HSE and the Department of Health, which led to disruption to services at hospitals across the country.

Outpatient appointments are going ahead today at Hospitals in Clare and Limerick but Professor Brian Lenehan says a decision on whether tomorrow’s will go ahead will be taken this afternoon.

He says it’s difficult to predict how long the disruption will last at this stage.
