University of Limerick’s Governing Authority has announced their new Chancellor and Chair.
Professor Brigid Laffan was unanimously approved to the appointment, taking over from Mary Harney, who has held the role since January 2018.

Professor Laffan is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s leading experts on European Integration and has recieved the Outstanding Achievement UL Alumni Award and France’s National Order of Merit.
The Kerry native was also one of the very first students to attend UL, then the National Institute of Higher Education, as she completed a course on European studies.
