Uisce Éireann Says No Definite Timelines For Broadford And Cooraclare Sewerage Schemes

Uisce Éireann says there’s no longer a definite timeline for the delivery of sewerage schemes in Broadford or Cooraclare.

Both villages were included in a €50m pilot scheme in 2024 which aims to provide wastewater connections in unsewered settlements.

Clare County Council had previously indicated the project would be delivered within five years, however in a correspondence to the local authority, the utility now says it’s not possible to provide definitive completion dates for individual schemes.

Kilmurry Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan says it’s hugely frustrating.
