Two people were rescued when their yacht ran aground east of Mountshannon Harbour yesterday evening.
At around 8.00pm the Valentia Coast Guard requested Lough Derg RNLI Lifeboat to launch, to assist the two people on board their 23ft yacht. The lifeboat located the cruiser and the two people aboard were safe and unharmed and wearing their lifejackets.

Killaloe Coast Guard also attended the scene and took the yacht off the rocks.
Boat users are advised that water levels on the lake are particularly low at the moment and to bear this in mind when planning a trip.
