Two held over Shannon Airport Incident released without charge

Two people arrested in connection with a security breach at Shannon Airport last month have been released without charge.

The man and woman in their fifties and seventies were detained in the Galway area yesterday on suspicion of criminal damage and had been held at Mill Street Garda Station until their release last evening.

A file is now to be prepared for the DPP.

Its all part of the ongoing investigation by Shannon Gardaí  into the incident at Clare’s International Airport in October when two anti war protesters, carrying banners made their way onto the main runway.
