Nurses say trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital have exceeded the number for all ten hospitals in the east of the country once again.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 119 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those on trolleys or chairs in the emergency department.

A further 71 were being accommodated in overflow areas of wards.
The overall figures was more than a dozen more than all ten eastern hospitals combined this morning.
