Nurses say trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital account for more than a quarter of the country total today.
The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 105 admitted patients waiting for a bed at the region’s main hospital this morning, 45 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than double the number at the next busiest facility; University Hospital Galway and 12 more than the combined total of all ten hospitals in the east of the country.
