Tributes Paid To Irish Language Pioneer Úna Uí Rócháin

Tributes are being paid to the late Úna Uí Rócháin, a pioneer of the Irish language in Clare.

The Miltown Malbay native was the wife of Muiris Ó Rócháin, a founder of the Willie Clancy Summer School, and a long-time teacher and lecturer of Gaeilge.

As well as establishing a Gaelscoil in Moy, near her hometown, Úna lectured in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.

Director of the Willie Clancy Summer School, Harry Hughes has been telling me she’ll be sorely missed.

May she rest in peace.
