Trecherous Conditions On Clare Roads Following Snowfall Overnight

Gardaí are advising of treacherous driving conditions in parts of Clare.

Snowfall overnight has resulted in a number of minor road crashes.

A low level yellow snow and ice warning remains in place until midday today, with accumulations of up to 3 cms in some parts – and Gardaí are warning that snowfall overnight has led to slippery conditions in many parts.

Emergency services have been alerted after a car left the road in Ruan, shortly after 6 o’clock this morning, while another car has left the road between Cree and Kilmihil.

There’s no reports of injuries.

There’s also reports of slippy conditions on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road, in and around the Kilrush and Cooraclare areas, on Ennis to Kildysart road and between Kildysart and Ballynacally.

Gardaí are warning that conditions are also bad in sheltered areas, the entrances to housing estates and on footpaths across the county.
