Increased services at Shannon Airport and the Wild Atlantic Way have been cited as key factors in the growth in visitor numbers to Loop Head Lighthouse.

Just under 8,000 people have visited the lighthouse so far this summer, up 4% from last year.
Over half of the visitors are domestic, though there has been a high number of Americans, Germans, Britons, Italians and French people checking out the spectacular views in Loop Head over recent weeks.
