In Britain, Tony Benn – the left wing Labour politician who served as an MP for more than 50 years – has died at the age of 88.

His family says he passed away at home this morning surrounded by relatives.
Mr Benn campaigned ferociously for working class people and was regarded as a divisive character in the Labour party before he stepped down in 2001.
