Three Injured In Ennis Mart Incident

At least one man has been hospitalised and two others injured following an incident at a cattle mart in Clare.

An investigation has now been launched by the Heath and Safety Authority.

The Health and Safety Authority has confirmed they have been informed of an incident that occurred in Ennis yesterday morning.

Emergency services were alerted around 10am after a number of people, who in the loading area at the rear of the mart complex got into difficulty.

Ambulance paramedics treated the injured at the scene – one man was rushed to University Hospital Limerick with a head injury, while two others were treated for minor injuries.

The Health and Safety Authority has confirmed they have been notified of the incident and that a formal investigation is now underway.

Clare Marts has so far said that there is no one available to comment on the incident.
