Twelve thousand people attended the official opening of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis.
Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley launched the festival in the Abbey Street Car Park yesterday, before renowned Clare musicians including Martin Hayes and the Tulla Céilí Band took to the stage.
Around 400,000 people are expected to descend on the county town over the course of the week.
